The activity was designed to provide students with hands-on experience in understanding the concepts of money management, communication skills, and real-life shopping experiences.
The school premises transformed into a vibrant mini food stall where students enthusiastically participated as customers. Equipped with dummy currency notes, the children purchased delicious pani puris and learned the importance of handling money responsibly. They practiced counting, identifying denominations, and making simple transactions, thereby strengthening their mathematical and financial literacy skills.
The activity also encouraged students to interact confidently, wait patiently for their turn, and make independent decisions while purchasing their favourite snack. As part of our commitment to promoting experiential learning, the students of Grades IV & V of the Hyderabad Institute of Excellence, Vikarabad embarked on an exciting educational field trip to a shopping mall on 07th July 2026, where learning extended far beyond the classroom walls. The visit was thoughtfully designed to help students understand the practical aspects of shopping, money management, consumer awareness, and effective communication in real-life situations.
During the visit, students explored various stores, observed product displays, compared prices, identified different categories of goods, and interacted confidently with store personnel. They learned how to make informed purchasing decisions by evaluating quality, quantity, and cost while understanding the importance of budgeting and responsible spending.

“To plant a tree is to believe in tomorrow” Hyderabad Institute of Excellence High School celebrated the annual festival of trees, Van Mahotsav, with immense enthusiasm and dedication to promote the vital role trees play in maintaining ecological balance. The special morning assembly, centered around the theme “Our Roots, Our Future,” commenced with a solemn prayer and an insightful thought for the day highlighting environmental conservation. The atmosphere was filled with vibrant green vibes as students presented an array of talent, including inspiring talks, a powerful skit dedicated to Mother Earth, and powerful slogans emphasizing the urgent need to protect nature. Inter Class Competitions
3rd July, 2026 HIE High school organized the Inter class competitions like Poster Making and Essay Writing for Grades V & VI. The event aimed to nurture creative expression, critical thinking and civic awareness among the students with the theme “GREEN TODAY, SAFE TOMORROW”. This segment provided a platform for students to translate their ideas into visual arts. Participants used, oil pastels, sketches and water colours to create impactful visual images. The theme challenged the students to depict the direct link between the present ecological actions and safety of the future generations. The artwork highlighted water conservation, stop pollution, save the earth, afforestation, save energy, green & clean environment. The entries were judged on originality, relevance to the theme, artistic talent. The students were appreciated for their vivid imagination and creative presentation of environmental responsibility.
The Essay Writing competition gave a chance to our young writers to express their thoughts on paper. The literary capabilities and analytical skills of the students were tested. Participants articulated their thoughts showcasing a strong command over language, structured augmentation and depth of knowledge. The theme was “SMALL STEPS, BIG CHANGE: MY IDEAS FOR A GREENER INDIA” which served as a testament to our students’ deep understanding of environmental challenges in India, ranging from urban waste management to plastic pollution. Participants articulated brilliant grassroots ideas such as segregation of household waste, community-led composting, carpooling networks and switching to indigenous plants to save water. The prompt encouraged the participants to move away from abstract global solutions and focus on practical, localized actions that can drive a nationwide green movement. The evaluation was based on content quality, originality of ideas and coherence of thought. The competition provided a wonderful platform for students to discover their strength build confidence and develop collaboration skills.
Crossword Puzzle and Word Search Competition
As part of the Inter-Class Competitions, a Crossword Puzzle and Word Search Competition was held for grade 7 and 8 to encourage vocabulary development, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills among students. Centering on the theme of Van Mahotsav, the competition required participants to solve clues and find words deeply rooted in nature, environmental conservation, and forestry. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different classes, who showcased their language proficiency, concentration, and analytical abilities. The campus was filled with mixed emotions for the farewell – ALOHA for the grade-10 students.

HIE Boarding Hiking Trip
HIE School organised hiking activity on 11-02-2026 for Boarding students and staff who assembled early in the morning to gain stamina and improve well being. The team remained enthusiastic throughout the trip with a short break for a while. This built confidence and a sense of responsibility. A Special Assembly was staged by the students of Grade 5, Hyderabad Institute of Excellence, High School, on this 30 th day of January to honour the immortal presence of Gandhiji, when he succumbed to the gunshot of Nathuram Godsey, while returning from his evening prayer. Students captured the moment through a poignant enactment of this tragedy. They honoured all brave hearts like Bhagat Singh, Rani Laxmi bai who had laid down their lives to free our Motherland … the price they had paid heavily, for us and our future generations… to be free. A minute- long silence was observed while the heart paid homage to the great souls to the tune of Raghupati Raghav Raja Ram…
Republic Day 2026
Long live the Indian Constitution!
On the momentous day of 26th January,2026 Hyderabad Institute of Excellence, saluted a tribute to the Democratic leadership of India that stands tall in the world with the largest constitution as the nation steps into the 77th year of its enforcement.
The dignitaries unfurled the tricolour and the congregation stood at attention as the national anthem was sung in unison. The students from grades 6 and 9 stood shoulder to shoulder with the inter freshmen tuning the significant moments of this great occasion.
The Director’s message was conveyed to the gathering with the perfect modulation. The Dean of the Institution enkindled young hearts with the three fold power of emotional, physical and mental well- being for the service to the nation and the building of our Republic. The rendition of the patriotic song by the students of grades 4 and 5 echoed of the voices of the martyrs for whom we are fortunate to live in a Sovereign , Secular , Socialist Republic empowered by our Fundamental Rights and Directive Principles of State Policy. Students watched live telecast of the Day’s celebration at
the Nation’s Capital and cheered the grandiose moments of the spectacle .
National Farmers’ Day
Today, our school celebrated ‘National Farmers’ Day to honour the hardworking farmers of our country. On this occasion, the students of Grades 1, 2, and 3 presented a skit showing the life of farmers and their daily work in the fields. The students also presented farming tools and explained how farmers use them for sowing and growing crops. This was followed by a dance performance that beautifully showed how farmers wait patiently for rain to help their crops grow. Through these performances, the students conveyed the message of respecting farmers, valuing their hard work, and not wasting food. Farmers are the backbone of our nation, and we express our heartfelt gratitude to them on this special day.
National Mathematics Day 2025
National Mathematics Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in our school. On this occasion, students presented a Nukkad Natak, showing how mathematics is used in our daily life. Through simple and relatable scenes like shopping, travelling, cooking, and managing time, children explained the importance of maths in an interesting way.
The skit conveyed the message that mathematics is not only a classroom subject but an essential part of our everyday activities. The performance was engaging and helped students understand the practical use of maths in real life. The programme inspired everyone to develop a positive attitude towards mathematics.
Human Rights Day
Hyderabad Institute of Excellence marked Human Rights Day with a thoughtful and informative student-led presentation. Students presented a meaningful reflection on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, explaining its key ideas—the rights and responsibilities we all share in building a just society.

World Soil Day
Grade 3 marked World Soil Day with a vibrant Flash Card Parade.
Students held colourful cards showing different soils . As they walked around the stage, each child shared one quick fact about their soil type and how it helps farmers grow important crops.
Children also displayed strong messages such as “Don’t throw plastic on soil,” “Plants need healthy soil,” and “Save Soil, Save our future.” The parade helped create awareness among all students about caring for soil and keeping our environment clean. ANNUAL DAY 2025
The Hyderabad Institute of Excellence celebrated its Annual Day on 29th November 2025 with grandeur, elegance and remarkable student participation. The event was a vibrant showcase of creativity and talent, beautifully woven around the inspiring theme “SAPTA VARNA – The Colors of Life.”
The Annual Day for this academic year was conducted with great enthusiasm and became especially significant with the gracious presence of our Chairman, Mr. Mansoor. His participation was an honour for the entire HIE community and served as a source of inspiration for students and staff alike.
The institution was further honoured by the presence of Mrs. Asra Fatima, daughter of the Founder, Mr. Ghiasuddin Babukhan. She serves as a Trustee of the Ghiasuddin Babukhan Trust as well as the Foundation for Economic & Educational Development (FEED). Her presence was a meaningful reflection of the strong legacy and vision that continue to guide HIE’s ethos and growth.
We were also privileged to have Mr. Shad Azeem Khan, the son-in-law of the Founder and an established businessman. He is the first Chairman of FEED and serves as a Trustee of the Hyderabad Zakat & Charitable Trust. His attendance added immense significance to the occasion and reinforced the commitment of the founding family toward the institution’s development.
The programme was additionally graced by the Chief Administrative Officer of HIE, Colonel Abdul Majeed, along with his wife, Mrs. Rasheeda. Their presence brought dignity to the event, and their continued support remains invaluable to the smooth functioning and progress of the institution.
The programme was conducted smoothly under the effective leadership and coordination of the school administration. Thoughtful planning and timely execution ensured that every segment of the event reflected the values and aspirations of HIE.
The encouragement and support from parents greatly contributed to the success of the event. Their involvement motivated students to participate with confidence, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of pride.
The Annual Day programme commenced with a warm and gracious welcome by the hosts, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to all parents for their continuous support and involvement in the school’s journey. They emphasised the vital role parental encouragement plays in shaping every child’s growth, confidence, and success. The theme for the year, “SAPTA VARNA – The Colors of Life,” was then introduced, symbolising the values, emotions, and life lessons represented by the seven colours of the rainbow.
The event opened with a melodious welcome song presented by young students, whose harmonious voices set a joyful and inviting tone for the evening, followed by a vibrant welcome dance that brought grace, rhythm, and celebration to the stage. The central presentation of SAPTA VARNA celebrated each colour of the rainbow through narration, dialogues, music, and dance, with every grade bringing a unique interpretation to the theme.
The Violet segment, titled “The Vibrant Violet Voyage,” showcased Grade 1 to 3 students through a delightful blend of song and dance, highlighting violet as the colour of imagination, calmness, and wonder. This was followed by the Indigo presentation, “Indigo Echoes: The Harmony of Kindness,” by Grade 4 students, who depicted the essence of courage and unity through expressive narration, a thoughtful connection to the Indigo Revolt, and a touching musical performance.
The Blue segment, “Blue Brilliances,” presented by Grade 5, explored blue as a symbol of peace, victory, and inspiration. Through humour, meaningful dialogue, and music, students highlighted blue’s association with nature, innovation and the pride of India’s 2025 Women’s Cricket World Cup victory. Grade 7 students then brought refreshing vibrancy to the Green segment, “The Glorious Green Guardians,” beautifully portraying growth, sustainability, and harmony through an engaging dance and song performance.
The Yellow presentation, “Flow Hues of Hopes,” by Grade 6, illuminated the stage with optimism and joy, as students described yellow’s link with knowledge, happiness, and brightness, supported by scientific insights and cultural references. The Orange segment, “The Optimistic Orange Ode,” performed by Grade 8, reflected energy, creativity, and emotional warmth through dynamic performances inspired by nature, spirituality, and adventure. The final colour, Red, was celebrated through “The Radiant Red Retro Rhapsody,” presented by Grade 9 and 10 students, who portrayed red as a symbol of passion, courage, and determination through expressive narration and vibrant choreography.
Following the colour presentations, a thoughtful panel discussion titled “Parenting in Today’s World: Balancing Roots and Wings,” previously aired on All India Radio, was showcased on stage by the students, offering meaningful perspectives on parenting in the modern era. This was followed by “The Serene Spectrum Symphony: Music Beyond Colours,” where students demonstrated their talent in instrumental music, adding depth and elegance to the evening.
The programme culminated with “The Brilliant Rainbow Blast: Grand Finale,” a spectacular dance performance featuring students from various grades who together represented the unity, diversity, and beauty of the rainbow. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Nishika of Grade 10, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, parents, staff, and students for their support and contributions. The event concluded respectfully with the National Anthem.

It was a proud moment for Hyderabad Institute of Excellence High School Vikarabad as students entered the All India Radio Station to record a panel discussion on the topic- Parenting in today’s world: Balancing Roots and Wings..
The escort teachers Ms. Runika and Ms. Jaseena took care to ensure that everything was in place before the recording.
The panel discussion was moderated by Akshara of Grade X . The programme was recorded at the All India Radio Station at Lakdikapul, Hyderabad.
The team at Akashvani was very cordial, they made the students comfortable before the recording and took time to take the students on a tour of the radio station. Students came back with gleaming faces with memories and experiences that made their day.

United Nations Day
To mark the UN Formation Day, 24th October students of Hyderabad Institute of Excellence High School conducted a United Nations General Assembly Simulation to commemorate United Nations Day. The event was based on the theme “Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights.”
Students represented various countries, shared their perspectives on global cooperation, and discussed ways to promote peace, development, and human rights. The programme also highlighted the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This simulation gave students a glimpse into how international dialogue takes place and inspired them to think as global citizens working towards a better and more united world.
World Food Day
The Grade 4B students presented a vibrant and engaging skit, “Food from Farm to Table,” highlighting the journey of food from farms to our plates. With creativity and enthusiasm, the students brought to life the vital roles of farmers, vendors, chefs, and homemakers in bringing nutritious food to our tables.
The play showcased the importance of appreciating the hard work and effort that goes into producing and preparing our food. The students effectively conveyed the message that food is a result of collective effort and should be cherished. Through their performance, they emphasized the value of teamwork, healthy eating, and reducing food waste.
World Students’ Day
World Students’ Day is celebrated on October 15th every year to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the former President of India and one of the greatest scientists and teachers. This day recognizes the importance of students in shaping the future of a nation.
Dr. Kalam believed that “Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action.” His life continues to inspire millions of students to work hard, stay humble, and contribute to society with knowledge and kindness.
World Students’ Day reminds us that education is the key to success, and students are the pillars of tomorrow’s world. Let us celebrate this day by learning with curiosity, respecting our teachers, and striving to become responsible and compassionate citizens.

On this World Mental Health Day, our students delivered a touching mime performance portraying the journey of a lonely child, the power of understanding, and the importance of emotional care. Through their silent expressions, they reminded us that listening, love, and empathy can bring light to even the darkest minds.
Their performance was not just an act, it was a message from the heart.
It reminded us that behind every smile, there might be a silent story waiting to be heard. Through awareness and compassion, we can create a world where every child feels safe to express, share, and grow.
As educators and learners, we strive to build not just intelligent minds but emotionally strong hearts where kindness, respect, and mental well-being walk hand in hand.

International Girl Child Day
Today, on the significant occasion of International Girl Child Day, the Hyderabad Institute of Excellence took a bold stand in raising awareness through a dynamic assembly led by the students of grade 10. These students addressed critical aspects of empowering girls at every stage of life, delivering impactful presentations that uncover the harsh realities faced by girls in our society. They conveyed a deep understanding of the struggles women encounter and the urgent need for change. It is imperative that society actively works towards the upliftment of women, granting them the rights to freedom, choice, and the ability to live life on their own terms.
Special Assembly on Indian Air Force Day – Saluting the Guardians of Our Skies!
Our students paid a heartfelt tribute to the Indian Air Force through a thought-provoking skit that beautifully captured the theme — “Peace is Maintained Through Strength.”
The performance opened with a powerful courtroom drama in which a citizen questioned the need for defence spending in times of peace. Through engaging dialogue, the skit highlighted how the Indian Air Force safeguards the nation — not just through defence, but through humanitarian missions, disaster relief, and unwavering service to peace.
The courtroom scene highlighted an important truth:
Peace is not the absence of danger — it is the presence of deterrence.
From rescuing flood victims in Uttarakhand to aiding during the COVID-19 crisis, the students conveyed how the Indian Air Force is not just a force of defence, but a force of compassion, discipline, and resilience.
The assembly concluded with a moving video presentation showcasing the bravery, achievements, and sacrifices of our Air Warriors. As the tricolour fluttered on screen and the audience stood in applause, one message resonated across the hall —

Inter-House Sports Showdown: Football and Badminton
Our school recently hosted a thrilling Inter-House Football match for Grade 9 and 10 boys and a Badminton tournament for Grade 9 and 10 girls, fostering healthy competition, teamwork, and sportsmanship among our students.
Football Frenzy
The Inter-House Football match saw enthusiastic participation from Grade 9 and 10 boys across four houses. The intense matches showcased impressive ball control, passing, and shooting techniques, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. Hawk House emerged victorious, defeating Eagle House in the final match with a remarkable score.
Badminton Brilliance
The Inter-House Badminton tournament for Grade 9 and 10 girls was a captivating display of agility, speed, and precision. The final match between Kite House and Hawk House was closely contested, with Grade 10’s C.Akshara from Kite House standing out with her exceptional skills to win the singles title. Nishika Rathi was the runner-up.

Inter- House Yoga Competition
An exciting Inter- House Yoga Competition was conducted for students of Grades 5-8. The event aimed to provide a platform for our students to explore the ancient art of yoga, fostering a deeper connection between body, mind, and spirit, promoting physical and mental well-being, discipline, and self-confidence among our young learners.
The competition saw enthusiastic participation from students across various grades, who showcased their mastery over different yoga asanas. Each participant not only demonstrated the poses from the syllabus but also explained the benefits associated with them, highlighting their understanding of yoga’s significance in daily life.
The event was judged based on criteria such as posture accuracy, balance, flexibility, and the students’ ability to articulate the benefits of the asanas. The participants’ confidence, poise, and enthusiasm were truly commendable.
Investiture Ceremony 2025-26
The Investiture Ceremony conducted on 7th August, 2025 (Thursday) at the Hyderabad Institute of Excellence High School was a much awaited event as budding leaders marched forward with their badges assuming duties for the academic session 2025-26.
Among the dignitaries were The Director of HIE Mr. Javeed Hood , Ms. Fariha Peerzada, the Chief Administrative Officer, Colonel Abdul Majeed and the Dean of the HIE Junior College, Mr. Hidayatullah. Parents of the newly constituted student council added vibrancy to the programme with their presence.
The emphasis of imbibing leadership skills was highlighted through various cultural presentations by students. Primary students stole the show as they anchored for the cultural presentations. Mesmerizing dances, soothing melodies and inspiring skit made the audience sit tight throughout the event.
The Head Boy Abhinav Reddy along with Head Girl Akshara pledged to fulfill their responsibilities with utmost sincerity and diligence. The Oath of Office was administered by the Principal, Ms. T. Veena Murthy.
Quit India Movement
The Hyderabad Institute of Excellence High School, Vikarabad proudly remembered the Quit India Movement, a turning point in India’s struggle for freedom declared by Mahatma Gandhi on August 8, 1942.
HIE honoured the relentless spirit and sacrifices of countless Indians who stood firm against colonial oppression and demanded their right to freedom.
Students presented a powerful Hindi skit that brought to life the courage, hope and determination that fueled the movement. The skit encouraged students to reflect on the value of freedom and to carry forward the torch of patriotism with pride and responsibility.

Kargil Vijay Diwas
The Hyderabad Institute of Excellence High School, Vikarabad joined the nation in saluting the valour and determination of our brave Armed Forces on Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated every year on 26th July. This day is celebrated to mark India’s victory in the Kargil war. This day is also observed to pay solemn tribute to all those soldiers who were martyred to safeguard the country not just in the Kargil war but in wars fought for the motherland.
The special assembly on Kargil Vijay Diwas was put up by the students of Grade XA. They portrayed the life of soldiers on borders and highlighted the meaning of real freedom.
The special assembly was made vibrant with the presence of (Rtd) Colonel AM Majeed, Chief Administrative Officer of HIE and (Rtd) Naib Subedar
(OPR) S.Ismail, Material Manager of HIE who served the Armed Forces and were a part of the Kargil war.
Colonel Majeed narrated the challenges faced by the soldiers during the war, their strategic planning and the never give up attitude despite such rough conditions. He enlightened students about the career opportunities in the Indian Army and the need for girls to be part of the Armed Forces.

The students of HIE happily celebrated the festival of trees with an opportunity to connect with nature and also learn about the significance of planting trees. Van Mahotsav emphasis that it is the duty of every citizen of the nation to take a pledge to be part of this green movement. Students dressed in green, entertained with a colourful dance performance to honour mother nature.

Independence Day Vibes! With a day of pure patriotism and celebration, HIE came alive with vibrant, colourful performances and paid tributes to India’s incredible journey to freedom.
The programme kicked off with a dazzling welcome dance by our little stars, followed by speech, Hindi and English recitation and inter-house dance and music competitions which was a true celebration of India’s unity in diversity. Our
Principal Mrs. Veena Murthy, shared her wisdom saying that students should take a pledge to be responsible citizens and contribute to the nation’s growth. Students as soldiers performed the Kargil Dance followed by fun Puppet Dance.
The program wrapped up with a warm vote of thanks, and thus completed the spirit of freedom. Jai Hind!

Investiture Ceremony 2024
To create leaders of future Hyderabad Institute of Excellence conducted its much awaited investiture ceremony, vesting upon different responsibilities to students with exceptional qualities. In the auspicious presence of the HIE Director, Mr. Hyder Ali Sir, who graced this event as a Chief Guest, honoured Vivek Goud as the Headboy and Unnati sai as the Headgirl of the school. He also vested the responsibilities to the heads of Sports, Discipline, Cultural Activities, and the four Houses of the school – Kite, Falcon, Eagle and Hawk.
Other dignitaries whose presence lit up the ceremony was Mr.Kamlakar, the Academic Head of HIE Junior College, and Mrs. Veena Murthy, the Principal of HIE.
To add colours to the event was the cultural dance performance by students on national unity. Also the choir mesmerised the audience with their song, ‘Itni Shakti Hame Dena Data’.
Every year students are designated to head various responsibilities in schools. By investiture ceremony students are formally given the responsibility to head various departments in a school. The management, staff, and students of HIE convey their best wishes to the newly elected Prefectural Body for the academic session 2024 – 25.
